Holiday Desperation
In the US, we have Thanksgiving on Thursday, and Christmas comes a month later. They are holidays for family gatherings at someone's home, in some cases 15 or 20 people, and often just one bathroom. There's often drinking involved, and in the US, there are afternoon football games on TV that seem to attract the beer drinking males. Over the years I've noted those in particular. The older men know that they can't hold their pee like they used to and generally drink less, but the younger ones may be engrossed in the game and put off peeing until they're desperate - only to find that Aunt Millie will need to spend extra time dealing with her irritable colon. I've never seen actual wet pants, but I've noticed some close calls! (BTW, there's always a non-drinking designated driver in the group.)

That person has a task that no doubt shows whether or not they're prepared to stop the car when one of the guys announces he has a piss-related emergency!Fred wrote: 25 Nov 2025, 15:40 [...] (BTW, there's always a non-drinking designated driver in the group.)

Having been a designated driver of beer drinkers, I have sometimes been slow to respond to requests for an emergency stop. I defend this by presuming that the bladder of an under-25 healthy male is capable of holding more than he thinks it can.

And that is a perfectly valid assumption to make. I don't see how that could possibly be thought of as a deliberate attempt to help a young man leak.Fred wrote: 29 Nov 2025, 20:03 I defend this by presuming that the bladder of an under-25 healthy male is capable of holding more than he thinks it can.

A lot of bushes and trees in the backyard getting watered during these family events! It’s interesting to see how different families and different dynamics deal with these issues. In some, men peeing outside is expected (even considered chivalrous to free up the toilet for the ladies), in others it’s considered uncouth or even taboo.Fred wrote: 25 Nov 2025, 15:40 In the US, we have Thanksgiving on Thursday, and Christmas comes a month later. I guess there's also some uncertainty sometimes about what the culture is at this particular party. Lots of guys will be biding their time (read: holding their piss in!) until someone breaks the tension by going to piss in the shrubbery, then everyone else will join him.jdoewest wrote: 01 Dec 2025, 12:09 A lot of bushes and trees in the backyard getting watered during these family events! Re: Holiday Desperation
This is very true, and not just at holiday parties.
I’ve been at the start of a running race before, seeing dozens of men queueing up to take a piss in the ports loos. Then, inevitably, someone will run off to the bushes nearby and the next second there’ll be loads of people following suit!
