Desperate while gambling

I was playing craps at the casino last night and joined a pair of 30-something tall, broad-chested guys on one end of the table. They had at least 3 drinks each in the hour I was there and clearly had started earlier based on the way they were cheering and hollering and fist-bumping, but they were still fun to be around. Towards the beginning, I heard them both talking to each other about needing a piss but having to wait because the table was hot. The dice passed around until it got to the first guy, wearing a baseball cap backwards. He was on a crazy streak and must have held the dice for 20 minutes. After he ended, the dice went to the next guy, the handsome bearded guy standing next to me. The next guy shoots for a few minutes before his streak ends, and the dice passes to me. The bearded guy again says to his pal that he really has to piss, but baseball cap replies that our end of the table was too hot and that they shouldn't leave just yet. At this point, baseball cap is sidestepping left to right and bearded guy is standing with his legs together. I'm in no rush to roll the dice with this scene going on next to me, so I take my time, enjoying the nonstop fidgeting next to me. I end up doing well and holding the dice for about ten or fifteen minutes. There's one more person on our end of the table to roll, but after I'm done, I look up and see baseball cap booking it away from the table and towards the gents. Bearded guy walks in the same direction as soon as he sees baseball cap coming back to the table.

Never realized that someone might be caught in a situation at a craps table like that, but I've heard of some poker players not able to get up in the middle of a longer game. Anyone else notice anything like this while gambling?

I've only ever been to a casino once but I can definitely envisage this type of scenario.

I've never been to a casino but I really appreciate your description there. The sidestepping guy and the guy with his legs pressed together must have been interesting to watch! I guess gambling must often be too important to leave to attend to a call of nature.

It reminds me a bit of a video which Bodgyuk linked to in Stronger Interests. That too shows a guy in a gambling hall obviously desperate to piss but too intent on playing the game to go and do so. I have read that in Las Vegas, it's common for people playing the slots to refuse to leave a machine that they are sure is due to pay off, and that some hold their pee so long that when they finally give in, they can't go and must go to the emergency room to be catheterized. I'm told that the Las Vegas ERs have slot machine players in quite often for this. I'll bet that many confirmed slots addicts wear adult diapers.
