“Breaking my neck”

I was once on a train and one of a group of lads was in the toilet when his mate went up, banged on the toilet door and said, “Hurry up, I’m breaking my neck out here!”

I wonder where that saying originates from?

Hmm that's an interesting one, not heard it before, and a bit of internet searching doesn't really bring up the origin, only that it is a phrase that is in use.

I haven't heard it before either in this context. But perhaps he used it to mean that he was going into physical contortions generally (because he was desperate to piss)?

Love that expression!! Used to be quite common when I was younger- not heard it for years though 😂
