I assumed it was some sort of weigh-in, maybe any Japanese or knowledgeable people about Japan can solve the mystery. There is obviously a crowd of people who look like reporters or photographers there.

I seem to remember a true story where that really happened to a male athlete. Worse than this picture too - he completely wet himself in front of the photographers and journalists before he was due to step onto the scales. Does anyone else remember this and even have a link to the account?

It must be very embarrassing for an athlete who is proud of his muscles to be unable to hold in his pee while in front of the cameras.

The photo below was posted on the old forum (the predecessor to this one) by graemem, and there was speculation at the time that the wet wrestler might have drunk too much water to qualify for the heavier weight category too.

Wrestling with a full bladder would certainly be a challenge! That fellow might have simply overhydrated before the match. My evil mind can picture a coach urging his athletes to keep hydrating and then observing the results.

Not sure what's going on here too. Could this be a case of rushing a pee too fast and putting it in too early, and not realizing before he stripped into his underwear?

If I just saw that second photo on its own I would have said it was just the natural coloring of the jeans. But comparing it with the first photo, something has changed. I think he's wet.
