Adrian Chiles does seem to have a real interest in urination. If he's a member here he should speak up! He should tell us more about being "quietly proud" of his bladder control.

I hope Private Eye wasn't too rude about Adrian Chiles' evident interest? I know the Eye can be merciless with people, but an interest in peeing and its issues is not something anyone would want bandied about and ridiculed.
Having said that... we're not averse to talking about celebrities' peeing mishaps whenever they occur. So I'd better swallow my hypocrisy!
There’s an argument to be made in some cases that the three-hour cine-slog is just a form of manspreading; another example of men taking up space just because they can. It’s reflected in the audience also: there’s an irksome breed of ultra-competitive film bro who would rather pee into a bottle than miss even a minute of Filipino director Lav Diaz’s latest long hauler. It’s worth repeating at this point: size isn’t everything, guys.
Size isn't everything in movies, but it sure helps when you're peeing in a bottle.Brian wrote: ↑26 Feb 2023, 10:25 This article about a new habit certain film makers have of making their films ultra-long (over three hours) makes me keen to get back into the habit of going to the cinema. The journalist seems to think it's a sort of male ego thing, and the key point is at the end of the article:

There is a related story on that site about "wild toileting" and the lack of public toilets.sebby wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 20:10 https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... users-down an article here about somewhere that had become a 'go-to' for public urination
I can definitely believe it! Many are so badly looked after people won’t use them too.Fred wrote: ↑11 Apr 2023, 17:45There is a related story on that site about "wild toileting" and the lack of public toilets.sebby wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 20:10 https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... users-down an article here about somewhere that had become a 'go-to' for public urination

It says that in the past ten years, 50% of the public toilets in the UK have been closed.
In urban areas it is increasingly difficult to find public toilets. The most common places these days are fast food restuarants and public parks. Even travel centres are not immune. The bus and train station don't have access to facilities, and most of them that are staying open charge 5p/10m or 20p. However, they also now take card paymentsFred wrote: ↑11 Apr 2023, 17:45There is a related story on that site about "wild toileting" and the lack of public toilets.sebby wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 20:10 https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... users-down an article here about somewhere that had become a 'go-to' for public urination
