Regardless of the order, he realized right before his fight that there is the very real possibility that he might end up
like this.
Wow, seems like the ultimate humiliation there, on the floor defeated and having peed himself as well. Yes, I guess this must be an issue in combat sports like wrestling. You really don't want to discover that you need a pee when the fight is about to start.

The well known front door key problem there when you arrive home bursting. Nice find!

And the comment about a 32-year-old husband that still waits until the last minute. That suggests that he had an opportunity to pee and chose not to. Perhaps another "closet holder".

I like his confident, macho attitude. He must be "one of us". He's proud to announce that he's going to hold it for another hour and a half.

#1 Checking to see who is pee shy?
#2 Anyone who spends time at the beach has probably used that method of relief. I have!
#3 He was in a hurry!

Yeah, the catch-22 situation where a significant amount of strength is required to contain the contents of the bladder, leading to insufficient remaining strength to be channeled to the fighting, including throwing punches and breaking out of holds, but trying to exert additional strength for fighting results in loss of bladder control. It may be the case the submitted peed himself due to temporary loss of consciousness, but this could be caused by the lack of strength to break out of the hold.

It's not only strength but also concentration. When the involuntary (subconscious) sphincter fails to hold back the urine, we rely on the voluntary (conscious) sphincter to hold it in. During the fight, the bladder is subjected to pressure and punches, and if the fighter is sufficiently distracted, he may fail to clamp the voluntary sphincter when necessary. While most fighters probably pee shortly before entering the ring, some might not feel the need even though his well-hydrated body is producing urine at a high rate.
