In some places there are spots where hopeful workers gather in the morning to be hired for a day's labor. Maybe he got caught short in the van that took them to their work place and leaked before they got there?
I suppose if it was American Football being played they last for hours, he didn't have much choice. Wow, that looks like a genuine case of him trying to subtly have an accident since he knew eventually getting to a toilet was not in the cards.
