Indeed, much to speculate about over this extraordinary story. The one thing, I think, which is clear about the way the flight attendant handled it was that he had no intention of helping the passenger. Maybe something about the way the situation began and developed caused the cabin crew member to regard the younger guy as a disruptive passenger intent on causing trouble, rather than as someone in acute need. Thanks for finding this and posting it.

Flight attendants should know when to make exceptions for an emergency, and this fellow's plight seemed to qualify. The outcome could easily have been a urine-soaked seat, and if the plane was still awaiting takeoff they'd have to return to the gate, deplane, and then delay for hours until a substitute was located. Or they would have reached their destination and the plane would have been taken out of service for cleaning. The FA was apparently experienced, so one might wonder if he found the passenger's desperation arousing. In any case, the FA will be seeking other employment.

Don't bother to read the whole article (unless Eurovision interests you). But Graham Norton's contribution is the last one, and his final sentences about his experiences of commentating the Eurovision Song Contest reveal something maybe we've all long suspected:
When will I retire? I will see what happens. I can still hold my wee in for four hours – you don’t get wee breaks. So, I think my retirement will be based on my bladder.

A desperate father recently jumped off a safari ride at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park in Florida to pee in front of everyone else on the ride and the wild animals that were roaming around. The video has quickly gone viral. He was surely kicked out of the park.

It's strange to consider the circumstances that would lead to the father getting caught short (after all, you expect a grown man to be able to plan ahead to find a bathroom before suffering an emergency like that.) But the punishment seems a little harsh. Anyone who's ever been to the zoo on a hot day knows that it hardly smells like a bed of roses, public urination or not ...
