This of course where Monty Python broke some ground, thought the religion they were lampooning wasn't amused. A new take on 'The burning bush'.

Tom Baker in his autobiography actually brings up a pretty funny image from his own time in the army regarding how Regimental Police would often times have horrible tempers caused by heavy starching making it hard to pee. You can find the excerpt here in his site.https://www.tombakerofficial.com/biogra ... hapter-10/

Re: Desperation in Books and Stories
When I came to look I found both of those pages were on a website that listed "This Page Is Under Construction - Coming Soon!Shinji09 wrote: ↑09 Aug 2022, 23:40 I have found instances of being desperate to pee to be quite common regarding literature surrounding all branches of the armed forces from soldiers to sailors. This first story I'm about to share goes over how Marines were forced to go hours without reliving themselves because of a military parade being held. http://www.mofak.com/Parades_and_Bladders.htm .
This second story deals with a bunch of Naval cadets getting stuck in traffic while driving to a football game. http://www.mofak.com/army_navy_game_1962.htm
mofak.com expired on 06/06/2023 and is pending renewal or deletion."
So I found the cached copy and have created a pair of threads in the 'Reposted' section of the forum for our enjoyment.

Interesting read, thanks.Shinji09 wrote: ↑21 Jun 2023, 15:14 Tom Baker in his autobiography actually brings up a pretty funny image from his own time in the army regarding how Regimental Police would often times have horrible tempers caused by heavy starching making it hard to pee. Tom Baker doesn't suggest this in the excerpt, but I wonder if the same starch which made the fly buttons inaccessible also let those "Redcaps" get away with it if nature took its full course and they had to let go. Maybe the pee just cascaded down the starched inside of the trousers and filled their boots without anyone else noticing.

Absolutely, Fred. Why not mention it? I suspect that a lot of the time such ommissions are because it doesn't occur to the author or s/he doesn't think the reader will be interested. I doubt whether it's anything to do with prudery, given the extent to which we've become sexually liberated.

Re: Desperation in Books and Stories
I think there is a list of pee scenes in books on another forum but I can't remember the name. I like to search Google books with keywords like "unzip piss" and it's taken me to some hot scenes.

Interesting! The question on my mind is how "Gilman" (I'm guessing this is the actor Sam Gilman who, I'm reading from another source which isn't necessarily reliable, was once Marlon Brando's room-mate) knew about these two guy's habit of letting loose together outside and why he wanted to reveal this.Asdfg5658 wrote: ↑10 Mar 2024, 00:21 Just found this about James Dean and Marlon Brando. Re: Desperation in Books and Stories
Oh, I haven't read that book of his yet, but I have read The Folding Star by the same author. While there's not really pee desperation, there is one reference to a character pissing furiously into the bushes after doing a recon mission of sorts and (if memory serves) downing a lot of beer in the meantime, as well as a desire expressed in the narrator's internal monologue for a certain bloke he fancies to... do things that are beyond the scope of the General & Open section.
