LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man who was caught driving 48 mph over the speed limit had a unique excuse for his crime: he said he had to go to the bathroom. "However, for the three miles officer was tailing, subject passed five open businesses that would gladly have allowed him to use the restroom," police say.

Great collection here Fred, thanks for all of these.

All of these guys had the same "excuse" for their traffic offences I see. It seems to me they were all probably telling the truth. Full bladders in traffic are common enough, and the natural response to being desperate is to try to get to where you're going as fast as possible.

All of them seem to be in the age range of young men who never think to pee before getting in the car or to consider the amount and type of liquid they've just ingested. And always figure that they can hold it until they get home.

Usually, young men can hold it for a long time after their bladder feels full as the feeling gets more noticeable as it fills more. even when the feeling gets really strong for me I can keep holding it, then hold even more as it swells more to where my bladder is tensing up from being so full. The only reason they might have been near pissing themselves is if they were drinking a huge amount like those super big gulps.

A lot of young lads are into fitness in a big way and for some of them, that means a couple of litres of water whilst exercising. A morning trip to the gym and then a drive into work might test even the fittest!

Could be tunnel vision induced by the urgency.

Agree. It is possible to consume so much liquids that, despite the precautionary pee before starting the trip, the bladder becomes full again within half an hour. And we aren't talking about alcohol. This might surprise people who are new to the exercise regime.
